Bill Snyder
Bill has been making, investigating, selling, and communicating about wine for more than twenty years. A science generalist by training and a lifelong teacher, Bill brings a both technical and practical approach to the business of winemaking.
Bill started his career in wine working in restaurants, getting certified a sommelier by the Court of Master Sommeliers, he turned his focus to wine production. Harnessing his palate, academic laboratory background, curiosity, and aptitude for process and communication into making great wine and improving winery operations.
Bill’s winemaking journey has taken him from California to Australia to Washington, before making the Willamette Valley of Oregon his home. He’s worked with a wide variety of cool- and warm- climate varietals in a range of growing regions. While spending most of his career in the world of ultra-premium wine, Bill has also worked with value wines, and knows what techniques are appropriate for different styles.
A lifelong educator, Bill taught winemaking at the Northwest Wine Academy at South Seattle College, where he guided the next generation of winemakers in learning technical fundamentals and real-world applications. His passion for education extends beyond the classroom—he has helped wineries big and small navigate operational challenges, refine their winemaking processes, and implement scalable solutions.
